Spring has officially sprung in Washington, DC! (As I knock on wood frantically so it doesn't snow on Friday). Although that last snow storm left the District looking beautiful and sparkly, I've been so ready to get out there and ride. Now that it's finally warming up and daylight savings time has furnished us with later sunsets, I've been able to get some training rides in after work and on the weekends. Although I'm proud to say I biked the 3 mile round trip to work almost every day this winter, I've been easing back into trail riding after a long (relatively sedentary) winter.
So far I've made my spring time biking debut at Hains Point for some flat, low-traffic "fast" laps; along the Mt. Vernon Trail to give Arlington, VA some love; and along the Capital Crescent Trail to round out the rotation into Maryland. All my rides have been in the 15 to 20 mile range so far, but I'm hoping to get out there for a 40+ miler this weekend with the weather looking nice!
I'm also nearing the $3,000 mark on my fundraising! So thanks again to all the amazing people out there who have donated so far. And if you haven't donated yet but would like to, you can visit the Donate page. Your donations will make a real impact to families in need of affordable housing throughout the country.
